Refunds and rescheduling
How deposits, cancellations, and unused consulting time are handled for our advisory engagements.
Eligibility
Refunds apply to fees paid directly to Desktop Branchcore Co., Ltd. for consulting engagements, assessments, retainers, and workshops described on this site. Third-party costs you incur (travel, landlord fees, your own counsel) are outside this policy.
Timeframe to request
Request a refund or credit within 14 days of the triggering event (cancellation, scope reduction, or missed session), by emailing hello@desktop-branchcore.click with your engagement reference.
Full and partial refunds
- Full refund: Available if you cancel in writing at least 10 business days before the first scheduled discovery interview or workshop and no preparatory work has begun.
- Partial refund: If work has started, we refund unused phases after deducting time already delivered at the rates in your agreement, plus any non-recoverable field-travel costs already committed.
- Retainer months: Unused full months paid in advance may be refunded if cancelled 15 days before the month begins; partial months already underway are not refundable.
Non-refundable items
- Completed discovery interviews, field days, and delivered written briefs
- Deposits marked non-refundable in your agreement when used to reserve scarce field weeks
- Third-party booking fees paid on your behalf with prior approval
Refund process and timing
Approved refunds are processed within 14 business days to the original payment method when possible. Bank transfers may take longer depending on your institution. We confirm the amount in writing before transfer.
Cancellation and rescheduling
You may reschedule a workshop or field day once without fee if you give at least 5 business days’ notice. Later changes may incur a rescheduling charge of NT$5,000 to cover facilitator and room holds. Desktop Branchcore may reschedule for advisor illness or unsafe travel conditions; in that case you may choose a new date or a refund of the unused portion.
Deposits and no-shows
Deposits secure dates on our calendar. No-shows without notice forfeit the deposit for that session. Remaining project fees are adjusted only for work not yet performed.
Work already started
Once interviews or research commence, fees for completed stages remain due. Materials prepared before cancellation stay available to you; we do not reclaim drafts already shared.
Exceptions
Statutory rights under the laws of Taiwan(China) remain unaffected. If an engagement agreement states different refund terms, that agreement controls for that project.
